Hi, my name is Carl and my passion for building goes back many years, as a child I was crawling around building sites as my parents were always building or renovating a new home. My father being in the building industry would not let me leave school to become a carpenter, so he pushed me into dairy farming until I turned 21 which then I decided to leave the dairy industry and started working with my father building. I started building new homes with him developing my passion for building which has been perpetual to this day, we worked alongside each other for many years growing the business and building valued relationships along the way. I love meeting new people and navigating them through the complex process of building their new home. I love spending time with my family, meeting new people and exploring this beautiful region we call home.

Hi, I'm Jae and I started with CD van der Meer Builders in 1997 for just over 10 years which within this time I achieved my qualification with Dad and then I departed for London on my big O/E - I spent just over 14 years in London taking on an account management role in retail construction, whilst I was there, I obtained my NEBOSH diploma in Health and Safety and met my now wife which we have had 2 children together who are all with us in NZ. I'm a family orientated man that loves spending time with my family, I have a passion for building and enjoy the team that I work with.

"Hi, I'm Sally and I started my office administration role with CD van der Meer Builders in 2013. My work background has always been in accounts to some degree.
With CDV expanding over the years, Steph has now taken over the main role with the accounts in the office, and I now enjoy working more personally with our clients, ensuring a smooth, stress free build or renovation, I do find the end result very rewarding.
I’m extremely proud to be working alongside my husband, our two sons, Taylor and Jae, plus the great team we have on board. In my spare time, I love spending time with family including grandchildren, travelling as much as we can, and enjoying the beautiful Kapiti Coast."

Hi, I’m Steph. I’ve been working at CD van der Meer Builders as Accounts Administrator since March 2022. Having known Carl for over 20 years through the building industry & motorcycle racing it wasn’t hard for him to lure me back to the coast after 10 years in Wellington where I was working in the finance teams at Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films, Park Rd Postproduction & Vintage Aviator. Prior to that I stepped out of my comfort zone to drive buses in the capital for a year, however, my passion is crunching numbers, not parked cars. I have also had finance roles at KiwiRail, Magritek & Stonewood Group.
It’s great to be back in Kapiti & an absolute pleasure to be part of this proactive & professional company. On my days off I like to explore our amazing country…usually on two wheels, sometimes in tramping boots.

"Hi, I’m Cam and I started working for CD van der Meer Builders in 2018 after making the move to the sunny Kapiti Coast.
I have been building for over 21 years, working on a variety of products in the Wellington region and becoming a qualified carpenter during this time.
I enjoy living in Kapiti with my wife and two children, in my spare time you will find me mountain biking, hitting a ball around a squash court or spending time with family and friends. I enjoy building and the satisfaction of creating a house that people can call a home."

Hi, I'm Taylor and have been with CD van der Meer Builders and part of the family for over 8 years and loving living and working on the Kapiti Coast. I was trained and qualified through BCITO and the quality team that Carl has. With the skills I learnt I was fortunate enough to have project managed and built my own home right here on the coast. I enjoy the work and the team Carl has put together.
Mike Rogers

G’day, I’m Mike. Born and bred in Tawa, I completed my apprenticeship in Wellington, qualifying in 2014. I have totalled 14 years in the construction industry, including eight years in Melbourne building high end residential homes in the north eastern suburbs. During my time in Melbourne, I also built a family. With two young girls and partner in tow, we moved back to settle in to the Kapiti life early 2023 and are loving all it has to offer, including my job with CD van der Meer where I have worked since March 2023. Carl is incredibly organised and efficient which adds to the enjoyability of working with a great team of lads. Outside of work, the family and block take up the majority of my time, but I jump at the opportunity to share a brew, watch and play sport, go fishing, golfing and check out the beach.

Hi, I am Matt! I have been with CD van der Meer Builders for almost 8 years now. I started my apprenticeship with Carl and followed through and achieved my national certificate in carpentry. Since being with Carl, he took me under his belt and introduced me to the world of Motor Bike Road racing where we raced all over New Zealand and I gained No 3 in NZ in F3. I now just enjoy the odd trials ride since welcoming my son into the world who turned one back in June. I have a passion for building and seeing the end product and I look forward to meeting you.
Mike Williams

Hi, I'm Mike and I started with CD van der Meer Builders in 2011. Before becoming a builder I spent 35 years engineering and running my own business. I originally started my apprentice in 1969 and have been building on and off since then. I decided to make the switch to building full time because I have a real passion for building and creating, it has always been something that comes naturally for me. Over the years I have spent my spare time sailing and racing yachts while being very involved in the sailing club. I love keeping fit and seeing all that NZ has to offer -when traveling overseas I enjoy hiking and cycling with my partner and when I'm on the coast I enjoy spending time with my family and love seeing my grandchildren. I love being a part of the team at CD van der Meer Builders, we have a fantastic energetic team of guys.

Hi, I’m Tristan and I'm originally from the Wairarapa. At 17 I decided to undertake my cooking apprenticeship which I completed and become a qualified chef. I then wanted to expand my experience and decided to make the jump to Australia from there I finally returned to Wellington where I spent 8 years in one of New Zealand’s top restaurants. In 2018 I decided a change in career was required to enable me to spend more time with my wife and kids. We decided to move to the Kapiti Coast, and I started with CD van der Meer Builders. 5 years on I'm now qualified and enjoying working with a great team of guys.
Ian Bloxham

Hello, I’m Ian and I emigrated to NZ from England in 1999, with my wife and two boys. There, I was City and Guilds trained in Carpentry and Joinery and I was a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen. I spent some time in the UK military too, and these skills lead to my liking neat and tidiness and order in all my work, I've been with Carl for just over one and a half years now, I work with a great team which are all very supportive and are just a great bunch of guys. In my down time I have many Japanese orientated interests and enjoy travelling around this beautiful country.
Taurean McArthur

Hi I’m Taurean, I started working at CD van der Meer Builders in December 2021 as a hammer hand and I have now started my carpentry apprenticeship. Prior to starting With CD van der Meer Builders I completed a carpentry course in Porirua at whitireia, whilst there I developed a passion for carpentry which I knew then I had to pursue further as my career. The team is welcoming, educational and are helping me throughout my journey to become a qualified builder. I enjoy spending time on the Kapiti Coast and all it has to offer.
